What They Do
Cadets’ Corner is the portion of the website dedicated to the cadets of Troy Township Volunteer Fire Department. Cadets attend trainings on Wednesdays with the rest of the department members and in addition have their own trainings on Thursdays, run by Lt. Joe Slepko. Troy’s cadets learn to work as a team, leadership skills, and to show and maintain respect to their leaders and superiors. Trainings also include becoming familiar with squads and engines, how to roll hose properly, and learning the basic procedures for an everyday call.
How To Join
If anyone is interested in joining as a cadet, come to trainings on Tuesdays from 6:00 – 8:00PM or Wednesdays at 7:00PM. Please note the following requirements:
- Individuals must be between the ages of 16 and 18.
- Ages 14-16 are considered Explorer status
- Ages 18 and above are considered Probationary status.
- Students must maintain a C average on their report card
- All cadets must go through the application process and be approved by the Board of Trustees
